Summer Comfort

High temperatures lead to cellular dehydration, less efficient enzymatic metabolic pathways, and leaky gut. On top of this, the optimal temperature for sows and piglets differ widely, challenging the wellbeing and productivity of lactating sows, especially during the hot season.

Heat stress occurs when temperatures exceed the pigs’ comfort zone, affecting their energy conversion and leading to reduced feed intake and productivity. High humidity can worsen heat stress, even at low temperatures. The metabolic strain from heat stress also disrupts the electrolyte balance, impacting their overall health.

Summer Comfort is a feed supplement designed to address these issues by providing essential electrolytes, vitamins, and minerals. This helps maintain the enzyme function, balance, and resilience during heat stress, which supports the sows’ well-being and productivity.

Lactating sows are particularly vulnerable to heat stress because their comfort zone has a lower limit compared to that of their  piglets. When affected by heat stress, the lactating sows eat less,  which reduces their ability to produce enough milk for a large  litter. Summer Comfort’s ingredients help prevent the loss, thereby supporting the health and productivity of lactating sows.

  • Heat stress management
  • Better performance during heat challenges
  • Dual action prevention of cellular dehydration saves hydration energy costs
  • Better body hydration
  • Milk loss prevention
  • Supports gut barrier function, preventing unwanted compounds from entering the blood stream (toxic effect)
